Going to build a house in Michigan, on a nice river. We have good knowledgeable contractors and architect. I want to incorporate as many eco/green sustainable ideas as I can that are reasonable and are cost-effective. What is the best online resource for helping me achieve this goal?

And also, would a wood frame or a steel frame for a house be better? And a website link would be helpful, too. Thanks!

I have joined this site I think is pretty cool for Go Green. Green Building using recycled materials saves you a ton of money. You get instant equity, cash flow, better quality per dollar spent and cost the same as building with stick and frame. What do You Think?

I am building a deck using pressure treated lumber. I plan to use either 8 x 3″ or 10 x 3.5″ screws. I am wondering what the difference is between green and cedar coloured screws, and which would be most appropriate for use with pressure treated lumber. Thanks,
