A bath in just plain old water?
Query by Bluebird: A bath in just basic old drinking water?
My 14 30 days outdated daughter was having some vaginal redness issues so I made the decision to quit using infant wash, just for a little while, and just use heat h2o. I feel the child wash (Head to toe) was the issue simply because the redness is entirely gone and she is back to typical. How lengthy really should I just bathe her in plain h2o? I’m anxious to use any sort of soap once more, I do not want her to get irritated all more than again.
Really should I start off employing organic and natural little one wash? What are some great varieties that will not trigger any discomfort? Thank you.

I always bathe my son in plain water. I let him play in it, wash his hair at the end and get him right out.
She could just be really sensitive.
anything that says hypoallergenic should work fine. if the rash comes back i’d take her to the doctor.
i would use dove soap
Try ORGANIC HERBAL soaps, natural soaps will not irritate, factory made ones distributed by the millions will.
Try buying soap for sensitive skin. Try it out and if she develops the problem discontinue until it goes away and then try something different. At some point you will want to find a soap that works for her. Only try one at a time otherwise you won’t know which one is causing the problem.
You could try a baby wash that doesn’t have any fragrance or dyes, that usually helps. I like Aveeno.
Organic bath wash wouldn’t be any better. Call your pediatrician and ask if there is anything milder then the baby wash (head to toe). She may just be allergic to something in it.
Talk to her pediatrician.
I think you gotta be careful of soaps and stuff you use on the vaginal area for women, girls and babies. Maybe you can use your baby wash on her body but just use water for her vaginal area. Talk to the dr tho they would know more.
Realistically you could use plain water for quite some time. The only area you might really need some sort of soap is in her hair if it gets oily. Otherwise water will wash away any dirt she is getting while playing outdoors or wherever. You might also find she is less likely to have dry skin if you do not use soap.
I would use plain water until her next doctor’s appointment and then see what they recommend for a mild soap. Most brands also have a “sensitive” formula which you could try and maybe only use it on her body and not on her bottom since you are probably cleaning her bottom at least once per day with diaper wipes anyway.
I would also avoid any bubbles if she is sensitive and any soaps, lotions or wipes that have a scent to them.
We use just water and a wash cloth on our 23 mo, and it seems to work fine. We do use shampoo, but there are hypoallergenic shampoos around, with no dyes or scents. In adults, the scents are the usual cause of a reaction.
Page 2 of the second link below recommends Toms of Maine soap – we use their toothpaste and it’s good.
I always bath my kids in just water. They stand up in the shower for a hair wash so they are not sitting in the shampoo and they get a good rinse.
At 14 months she probably needs soap at the end of the day. I would try Aveeno Baby products because they are hypoallergenic. She may have also just had a little diaper rash. If it happens a lot I would be sure and ask your doctor at her next check up.
I would use hyperallergenic soap and then give her an extra rinse with fresh water when you take her outts the tub…..my son had sensitive skin and there wasnt alot we could use on him….and if it keeps happening take her to the doctor!
Plain water is fine, i wash my daughter in just water as the baby wash also gave her a rash, i use non perfumed washes every other day. I always wash her body and hair at the end so she is not sat in it. A babies skin is so much more sensitive than an adults.
