Question by jizzabella: How do I do a salt water bath for my iridescent shark ?
It has ick, tried organic meds in water, raising temp of tank. no luck. please help.

Invest in aquarium salt. I think you add 1 teaspoon per 5 gallon, or something similar,,,
When you pick it up from the store, it should have directions on the back to follor.

What I suggest:
Get aquarium salt and use it as well. It helps reduce stress while medicating, and helps medication take stronger affect.
Get CopperSafe. There are LOTS of Ich medications out there.. I have personally tried this one, and it succeeded. You can try a different one, but I’ve had success with this one if you have had poor success with another.
Follow directions on both, and give it 2-4 weeks. It should kill off the ich parasites.

You raise the temp to just quicken their life cycle. The warmer it is, the faster they move through their lifespan. Ich parasites are only affected by medication once they drop off the fish to breed and die. By raising the temp, they fall off them faster, so the medicine can kill them faster.
