What does “building green” mean?
Now I don't mean a "green building" but what I mean is "building green"
I'm trying to work out a solution with my sister who forgot her reading text book at school and she needs the definiton of building green. What are some techniques in building green also?
It is using methods and materials that are ecologically responsible, such as using recycled lumber (wood that had been used in something else that has since been torn down or otherwise destroyed or doesn’t need the wood anymore), using paints and stuff like that which will not harm the environment, and using things like solar panels, windmills, and other forms of natural energy so as not to get so much energy from nonrenewable resources.
It means building objects such as houses, office buildings, stores, housing complexes, that do as little damage to the environment as possible. Building green involves seeing that the object being built has been built out of as much recycled and non-toxic materials as possible, as well as being built to not require using so much energy for heating and cooling, such as using solar panels on roofs and enough insulation to keep heat in during the cold, and heat out during the heat. It also involves using windows that are well insulated for the same reason. You should be able to google the term and get plenty of information.
